With just a few ARCs that are either graphic novels or a book I’m really excited about, I have a feeling my love for reading will make a full return in June. I’m excited to get to some of the books I’ve bought recently or maybe some from years ago. You don’t want to know how many older books are sitting on my Kindle untouched.
Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce

I’ve been thinking about this book so much that it’s definitely time I pick it up. I basically spend all of my free time watching Critical Role so obviously I need even more Dungeons and Dragons in my life. No seriously, I do. I really want to get out and play it again soon but this will have to fill the void for now.
Also, I’ve definitely read the synopsis for this and didn’t buy it purely based on its cover and title (lie). I’ve only just found out this is a fake dating book which makes me even more excited to check it out. I’m getting close to the end of my favourite fake dating books for posts so I’m desperately in need of new ones.
Don’t act too surprised if I decide to read this before June begins.
Synopsis: When it comes to romance, sometimes it doesn’t hurt to play games. A fun YA romcom full of fake dating hijinks!
Musical lover Riley has big aspirations to become a director on Broadway. Crucial to this plan is to bring back her high school’s spring musical, but when Riley takes her mom’s car without permission, she’s grounded and stuck with the worst punishment: spending her after-school hours working at her dad’s game shop.
Riley can’t waste her time working when she has a musical to save, so she convinces Nathan—a nerdy teen employee—to cover her shifts and, in exchange, she’ll flirt with him to make his gamer-girl crush jealous.
But Riley didn’t realize that meant joining Nathan’s Dungeons & Dragons game…or that role playing would be so fun. Soon, Riley starts to think that flirting with Nathan doesn’t require as much acting as she would’ve thought…
The Charade by Judy Corry

Oh would you look at that. Another fake dating book. Yep, June is going to be the month of fake dating reads and this one is thanks to Audible Plus. It’s actually a little crazy how many audiobooks I listen to these days. I hated them at one point but now I listen to one almost every day.
I’m planning to go into this book with absolutely no expectations and hopefully I’ll be surprised in a good way.
Synopsis: When my math tutor made me sign a contract promising I wouldn’t fall in love with him, I thought he was joking.
He wasn’t.
Yes, Carter Hastings is the prince of Eden Falls Academy—one of the most beautiful humans on earth—and boy, does he know it. But I can use this to my advantage. Since I basically signed a paper saying I’d never catch feelings for him, it makes my plan even more perfect.
So I offer him a a fake relationship. The arrangement helps Carter get revenge on his ex and helps me hide the fact that I’m not smart enough to be at this prestigious school. Win-win.
Only, as we pretend to be in a relationship, I find out he’s different from what I expected. He’s better. So much better. And when he kissed me last night, I just wanted it to be real.
But as I’m searching for a loophole in that stupid contract I signed, a huge family secret comes to light and all the sparks I started feeling for my fake boyfriend suddenly become forbidden.
I know I should walk away from him. That I should go back to keeping our tutoring sessions strictly professional . . . But I don’t want to.
Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins: Caduceus Clay by Kendra Wells & Selina Espiritu

I’ve been slowly making my way through this series as I don’t want them to end. I’ve only read Jester and Fjord’s instalments so far but I’ve absolutely loved both of them. Which makes sense as they’re my favourite characters in the Nein.
I’m currently watching campaign two on Beacon, I caved and got the subscription as I needed The Mighty Nein back in my life plus I wanted to watch Weird Kids, and I’m at the point when Caduceus is first introduced. He’s probably one of my favourite character designs they’ve ever done. He’s a cosy boy.
Synopsis: Caduceus’ tale, meanwhile, revolves around the longstanding rituals of the Clay family in the Blooming Grove, and the cleric’s efforts to investigate a creeping corruption affecting the sacred sanctuary alongside his sister Clarabelle.
