I feel like I said a while ago I was going to start posting these monthly but that clearly didn’t happen as I haven’t done one since July. Planning my monthly schedule has been a little hectic lately as I’m trying to balance reading 12 festive ARCs before December whilst reading enough other books for normal content.
Graphic novels are really helpful when it comes to creating more content, so I’ll definitely be picking up some new ones soon.
The Mortal Instruments: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 by Cassandra Clare & Cassandra Jean

For me, Cassandra Jean is THE artist for anything shadowhunter related. Her style is instantly recognisable and that’s a huge compliment for an artist if you ask me. I’ve read one other graphic novel she illustrated and her style is really adaptable to any story. I love a unique illustration style.
This is one of my favourite covers of the whole series as it’s so iconic. It has the Mortal Cup and Sword on it, which you wouldn’t even know the significance of if you’ve only read this volume.
Synopsis: Hanging out with her best friend, Simon, is just about the most exciting thing in Clary’s life…that is, until she realises there are people only she can see. But when her mother disappears and a monster attacks her, Clary has to embrace a world that she never even knew existed–a world full of vampires, werewolves, demons, and those who fight for the humans, Shadowhunters…
The Dream Factory – Book 1 by David Boriau & Goum

This graphic novel has a really fun and cartoony style. Every single page is bursting with colour and life and it’s so lovely. The cover is exactly the same which is why I’ve included it in this post. Sometimes graphic novels have a different art style on the cover, but this is exactly what it looks like the whole way through. It’s the type of cover that definitely catches your attention and for the right reasons.
Synopsis: Living with narcolepsy is no picnic. Andy falls asleep everywhere, all the time, especially at the most critical moments. But one day, his condition gives him the opportunity to discover The Dream Factory. Posing as an intern, the teenager infiltrates the organisation created to regulate everyone’s dreams and nightmares. With security agents hot on his tail, Andy is determined to find out why he falls asleep so often…
